Flounder

A set of flounders….
The Flounder is one of the most effective bait to fish for flatfishes. Due to its exciting way of action, the fishes become attracted by their natural curiosity.
Flatfishes are eye-hunters, extremely curios and jealos about food.
Sometimes a second flatfish comes up to the watersurface along to another hooked flatfish, attacking the lugworm or Flounder the other flatfish got hooked of.

Used in a correct way,the Flounder will bring you an unexpected succes. Codfish, Garfish, Sea trouts, Coalfish and many more are attracted by this bait. Preferred use of it is with Lugworm, Ragworm, Shrimp or fish frazzles.
Again and again i recieve emails in which people ask me:
how to use the Flounder
or
will i need additional weights?

Following this, i will now describe whats the reason of this efective system is.

The Flounder is mainly similar to a chinese spoon. Its is cropped in a double opposite direction using the outer form of a violin. On each end its bored to mount in the line to the rod and to the hook. The bigger side of the Flounder is using a circlip through the whole in which you should knot in an around 20-25cm long line with a 1/0 flatfish hook.
Thats basically all!

The production of a Flounder is using an hydraulic press of a minimum 4tons pressure.
I am producing the Flounder in several different weights and colours such as 27-35-44-50-70gr and red, blue, brown, green and many more as you can see in our webshop.
For the use in Norway, we are considering a special production with heavy weight and special sice…
Very effective colours are all the colours using a special glitter effect. Obviously the flatfishes love them pretty much.
Additional weights are not neccessary!
The Flounder can be used from Moles, Belly boats, boats, beaches.
Most funny way to fish with the Flounder is by using a light senitive spinningrod with around 40gr weight and a monofil line on the reel. You dont need anything more then just that rod, some worms or frazzles and you can start fishing!
Of course for safety some spare parts like hooks a just some meters line. Of course it could always happen that you stuck an a stone or anything else. For that case, the line between hook and Flounder should be a bit finer than your fishing line to ensure that you only loose the hook, but not the Flounder.
You can fish in big areas for flatfishes very intensive and effectively with the Flounder.

The use of the Flounder is nearly used like a twister wich gets twitched over the ground.
Sometimes slow and constant, next moment in aggressive and fast elevation.
You can also lug it only over the ground with a fine feeling.
Meantime i learned to analyze the ground with the Flounder and realize small wholes or unequal area of about 3cm only.
Thats the where the flatfishes are….
Another benefit of the Flounder is, that many other fishes are attracted of it: In the Baltic sea i cought many different kinds of Flatfish, Codfisch Sea scorpions, Sea trouts and many more…Only Herring will not be cought with the Flounder :)

Further to the mentioned benefits i can say that i really appreciate that i lost only very few Flounders over the years.
Sometimes the hook, but not the Flounder. Pilkers and blinkers were lost many times…
Who ever learned fishing with the Flounder and is successsfull in using it correctly, will really favour it. I never used a fishing method which is more exciting and effectively before.

The success rate can be 3x timer than using a Pilker. With only one hook!

The real exciting fact when using the Flounder is, that you realize every small twitch on the bait due to the always tight line you should use!
By operating smart without any hectic, you can turn every twitch in your prey…
When Flatfish or Codfish became hooked, and the rod turns into a bow down to the fish, the fun starts :)

I would be glad to recieve some reports, critics, or pictures from your experience with the Flounder. If your are now interested in trying some Flounders, please dont hesitate to enter the brandnew webshop
